Blocking the charger for a Nissan Leaf that was cruising the lot when I came in... It pisses me off that they’re not ticketing for this yet with how common electric cars and plug-in hybrids have gotten. So I left a note. “EV means Electric Vehicle, not Egocentric Volvo.”

I park my Trans Am in hybrid spots all the time. Pontiac with a Chevy engine counts as a hybrid right? No tickets yet.

As long as it doesn’t have a charger, that’s fine. I just hate when people block something that’s actually necessary for someone else.

The only thing enforceable is handicap parking. Everything else is on the honor system. Hybrids, EVs, pregnant moms, Gryffindor alumni..... None of it is super serious, it’s just about being decent.

My understanding of the law is that law enforcement can’t actually ticket on private (read as: shopping malls, grocery stores, most places of convenience) property. The owners of said property can tow, but likelihood there is slim. Pissing off one customer for a towed car versus mildly annoying one electric vehicle owner.

Nah, the only parking spots with chargers Ive ever seen are Teslas Superchargers. I never park in those obviously. I park at the hybrid parking at the coffee shops to piss off hipster Prius drivers.

My local Walmart has about 7-10 dedicated charging spots in the parking lot and of all the two times I’ve been there, almost every spot was taken up by a non-EV car.. Pisses me off to no end.

Around Ann Arbor where I live most the parking structures have chargers and special parking for electric cars or "fuel efficient vehicles"

Nope. Even if it was something like that, he wasn’t using the thing anyway. The Leaf I saw went up and down that row a couple of times, so I’m pretty sure he wanted to actually charge up.

I once saw a spoiled rich girl in a New Beetle that daddy presumably bought for her 15th birthday park in one of those expectant mothers spots. I congratulated her and asked when the baby is due. She wasn’t very happy.
